Installation Services FAQ
Can I install a washing machine myself?
If your bathroom already has a drain and water connection, you may install a washing machine yourself. However, some housing companies require that even washing machines be installed by a professional. Always check with your landlord or housing company first.
If you have no prior experience, it’s safest to have a pro do it to ensure correct connections. If the drain hose disconnects or breaks, it could cause leaks and water damage. Dishwashers must always be installed by a plumber.
Can I get help with furniture assembly from Kotihandi?
A handyman can help you assemble any furniture, such as kitchen cabinets, shelves, tables, bookshelves, or beds. We help with items bought from Tori, second-hand shops, or furniture stores like Ikea. We can also arrange delivery and removal of old furniture.
Are handyman services eligible for household tax deduction?
You can get a tax deduction for Kotihandi’s cleaning and renovation services. Renovations include things like kitchen or room remodeling. The deduction applies to the labor portion. In 2025, the deduction is 35% of the labor cost, up to €1,600 per person per year. The deductible is €150. Read more on the Finnish Tax Administration website.
