Our cleaners bring all necessary tools and detergents, and ladders if needed. We do not offer window cleaning that requires lifts or aerial platforms.
When is the best time to book window cleaning?
Window cleaning can be done from April to October or anytime the temperature is above +5°C. Light rain is not an issue, but if heavy rain is forecasted, we will reschedule. The best time is on a cloudy, windless day.
Try to book your cleaning at a time when the sun is not directly hitting the windows. For example, if your windows face southwest, afternoon cleaning may be problematic – schedule it for the morning instead.
Window cleaning price depends on the type and number of windows
To give you the best possible price, let us know how many of each window type you have. Different windows take different amounts of time to clean:
- Single-pane windows: one glass layer with two surfaces (e.g., balcony glass, shower walls)
- Double-pane windows: openable windows with two glass layers and four surfaces
- Triple-pane windows: openable windows with three glass layers and six surfaces
- Paned windows: windows made up of multiple small sections
- Ventilation windows: small windows next to larger ones

How should I prepare for window cleaning?
To ensure the window cleaning is completed on schedule and all windows are cleaned thoroughly, make sure the cleaner has enough space. It's faster to start the work if you move furniture away from the windows beforehand so the cleaner doesn't need to move heavy items. Also, remove any curtains hanging in front of the windows.
Is window cleaning eligible for household tax deduction?
Window cleaning is eligible for a household tax deduction on the labor portion. In 2025, the deduction rate is 35% and the maximum deductible amount per person is €1600, with a deductible of €150. You can apply for the deduction from the Finnish Tax Administration after the work is completed.
It’s raining on the day of the window cleaning – what should I do?
Windows can be cleaned in light drizzle or during brief showers. It is the customer’s responsibility to check the local weather forecast and reschedule if heavy rain is expected. We aim to complete the cleaning even in light rain, but Kotihandi cannot guarantee a perfect result under such conditions. If prolonged rain is forecasted, we recommend postponing the cleaning. You can reschedule for free up to 48 hours in advance by contacting our customer service. A new appointment must be booked at least two hours before the new cleaning time.
