Moving Boxes and Supplies – Boxes Can Be Ordered Before the Move
It's a good idea to order plastic moving boxes in advance so you can pack more tightly and securely. Order a generous number of boxes depending on the amount of belongings. On average, 10–15 boxes are needed per room.
Moving boxes and other supplies are not included in the packing assistance price. You can order plastic boxes and packing materials separately from Kotihandi. You can also order both boxes and movers.
5 Tips for Packing Your Belongings

Whether you pack yourself or hire a professional, it’s best to start early and pack carefully. Begin 1–2 weeks before your move. Start with items you rarely use. Packing one box a day is an easy way to stay on track.

If you don't have time to pack, order packing help. It’s especially useful if you have a lot of items for recycling. Kotihandi also offers recycling and disposal services, for example for unwanted furniture.

Place heavy items at the bottom of each box and lighter items on top to avoid damage. Mixing heavy and light items also makes boxes easier to carry.

Plastic moving boxes can be safely stacked in the moving truck because they hold weight much better than cardboard boxes. You can also load beds or mattresses directly on top, keeping them clean and saving space.

Don’t leave empty space in boxes – items can shift and get damaged during transport. Fully packed boxes maximize space and reduce the number of boxes needed.
